Safety & Compliance — Our Certifications and Regulatory Standing

Uncompromising Safety & Full Regulatory Compliance

At Bali Komodo Private Cruise, the safety and security of our guests and crew are our highest priority. There is no compromise. We operate with a culture of safety-first, ensuring that every aspect of your Komodo private cruise not only meets but exceeds both Indonesian maritime law and international best practices. Our operations are fully transparent and compliant, providing you with complete peace of mind as you explore one of the world’s most beautiful marine environments. This commitment is managed by the seasoned professionals on our team.

Corporate & Legal Compliance

We are a fully legal and registered entity in the Republic of Indonesia, committed to ethical and transparent business practices.

  • Legal Entity: Bali Komodo Private Cruise is a brand operated under PT Juara Bahari Nusantara, a legally registered Indonesian company (Perseroan Terbatas) and a subsidiary of the reputable Juara Holding Group.
  • Tourism Business License (SIUP Pariwisata): We hold a valid and current business license for tourism services issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), authorizing us to conduct tour and charter operations.
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP): We are a registered taxpayer in Indonesia and are fully compliant with all national and regional tax regulations.
  • Employee Welfare Compliance: All our employees, both shore-based and vessel crew, are registered for national social security programs, including BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (for employment-related insurance and pension) and BPJS Kesehatan (for healthcare).

Maritime Safety & Vessel Certification

Our fleet is maintained to the highest standards of seaworthiness and safety.

  • Vessel Registration & Annual Inspections: Every phinisi yacht in our fleet is officially registered in Indonesia and undergoes a rigorous annual inspection by the Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan (KSOP) Kelas III Labuan Bajo. This inspection is mandatory to receive the Surat Persetujuan Berlayar (SPB or Port Clearance) required before every single departure.
  • SOLAS-Standard Equipment: While not all domestic vessels are required to be fully SOLAS-compliant, we voluntarily equip our fleet with Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) standard equipment. This includes professionally serviced inflatable life rafts, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB), satellite phones, comprehensive fire suppression systems, and a full complement of life jackets for all passengers and crew.
  • Certified Crew: Our captains hold, at a minimum, an Ahli Nautika Tingkat IV (ANT IV) license and have extensive, specific experience navigating the challenging currents of the Komodo archipelago. All crew members hold valid STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) certificates, including basic safety training and first aid.

Operational Safety Protocols

Safety is embedded in our daily procedures, both on board and from our shore-based operations office.

  • Emergency Action Plan (EAP): We have a comprehensive EAP covering all potential contingencies, including medical emergencies, severe weather, and mechanical issues. Regular drills are conducted to ensure the crew is always prepared.
  • 24/7 Shore-Based Monitoring: Our operations office in Labuan Bajo tracks every vessel in real-time via GPS. We maintain constant communication with our captains via satellite phone and VHF radio, providing weather updates and logistical support.
  • Advanced Medical Preparedness: Our vessels are equipped with extensive first-aid kits that exceed industry standards, including oxygen tanks and defibrillators. Key crew members are certified in Emergency First Response (EFR). We have an established protocol for emergency medical evacuation and a direct partnership with Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo, the region’s best-equipped medical facility.
  • Diving Safety: All diving activities are overseen by PADI-certified Divemasters or Instructors. We enforce conservative dive profiles, perform regular equipment checks, and use a reputable Bauer compressor for pure air fills. Emergency oxygen is always available on the dive tender.

Our meticulous approach to safety and compliance is a cornerstone of our brand promise. It is the invisible luxury that allows you to relax and immerse yourself fully in the magic of Komodo.
